Mission & Purpose
For Children - Our mission is to teach children about countries, languages, cultures, facts from around the world through flashcards, animation & interactive learning experiences. In addition we also provide academic content and General Knowledge to prepare children for school. The academic and General Knowledge content will eventually be made available in multiple languages from around the world. For Parents - Create a community for parents by providing a Parents Corner forum for discussion and an 'Ask an Expert' option for questions.
Our Story
GloSmart was founded in May 2009 by parents of a 4 year old child. The idea was born when we were teaching our son about Indian culture using books, CDs, flash cards. We wished to also teach him Hispanic, Asian and American culture as we live in Silicon valley - where people from multiple cultures coexist. We were appalled by the amount of effort we had to put in by taking him to classes, reading different books and going to multiple sources to get the information. To address this pain point we decided to start a website where parents and children can go to and learn about countries, languages, cultures and facts from around the world. GloSmart also provides parents a place to share their experiences and ask questions to experts with multi-cultural exposure.
